These elegant spherical pots from the Lunar Series are inspired by Kate’s love of containers and her fascination with the long history of the human collecting and storing special objects. These satisfying shapes are slip cast using a hand coloured grey clay and finished with a beautiful Sea Green glaze. The hand turned walnut beaded lids are an original feature on these statement containers. The Lunar Pots are slip cast in a semi porcelain clay then high fired to stoneware temperatures, and can be used as urns, keepsake urns or memory boxes.

Boxes, jars and containers with bound lids are amongst her signature pieces, with the quality of the surfaces echoing elements of water, rocks and horizons. Her distinctive tonal effects come from applying layers of glaze, creating textures that compel us to touch the surface and connect with each piece individually. Just like people, no two pieces are ever the same.
