Marianna Jamadi
(KUNOKAIKU)
Marianna Jamadi is the founder and maker behind KUNOKAIKU, creating handmade memorial vessels and cremation urns shaped by her personal experiences of loss. After the passing of her parents in 2017 and 2018, she searched for more meaningful ways to grieve and honor them; unable to find an urn that felt as beautiful as their spirits, she began making her own.
With a background in travel photography, Marianna draws from the rituals of remembrance she has witnessed across cultures, designing vessels intended to be more than a place to hold ashes. Presented by Urn Studios, her pieces are made to support personal memorial at home. KUNOKAIKU pays homage to her heritage and her parents’ home countries of Indonesia and Finland, from KUNO (“ancient” in Indonesian) and KAIKU (“echo” in Finnish).
