Artist: Alma Boyes

This ceramic urn explores the traditional ‘Agateware’ technique, crafted using coloured clays that Alma blends herself with oxides and stains mixed to her own recipes. Each vessel is thrown and turned on the wheel to reveal and enhance the marbled agate patterns within the porcelain body, then fired to stoneware. The interior is glazed, while the exterior is polished smooth for a beautifully tactile finish. Each piece is uniquely hand crafted to hold, treasure and celebrate the individuality of each person remembered.
