Caro Gates
Caro Gates lives and works in South East London, where she was born in 1984. She first discovered ceramics while studying graphic design at Camberwell College of Arts, and later returned to the medium after years in illustration and design.
Her work explores the relationship between the organic and the manmade, inspired by how nature is honoured across cultures, histories, and myths. While her wider practice focuses on sculptural ceramics, the pieces featured here reflect her distinctive approach to form and texture, offering a poetic take on ceramic urns, memorial vessels, and handmade objects of remembrance.
