Handcrafted by Robert Bende, this ceramic cremation urn is thrown on the potter’s wheel from white clay and finished with terra sigillata for a soft, lustrous surface. During the outdoor sagger firing, sawdust and straw shape natural markings across the form, creating tones of rose, grey, and charcoal that merge in harmony. This urn for ashes is entirely unique, a one-of-a-kind piece formed through the dialogue of earth, fire, and the maker’s hand.
