Artist: Kate Gorbunova (Count Barkula)

Handcrafted with care in East London studio, the Everbloom Memory Vessel is a timeless ceramic pet urn designed to honour the memory of a beloved cat. Its elegant form draws inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman pottery. Atop the urn, a serene guardian cat is reminiscent of Pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican art where sacred animal figures watch over their keepers.

Each piece is hand-built from white stoneware clay, adorned with hand-painted underglaze botanical details, and finished with a clear crackle glaze. Each piece is one of a kind, with natural imperfections that enhance its unique character.

(Count Barkula)

Count Barkula is the playful ceramic alter ego of Kate Gorbunova, born during lockdown as an escape from screen fatigue. A graphic designer by trade, Kate sought a hands-on creative outlet—something tangible and deeply personal. She found it in clay. Inspired by her beloved whippet, Victor Hugo, Kate infuses each piece with character and mischief. Her ceramics blend ancient influences with a modern twist.

The shapes echo Greek and Roman pottery, while expressive animal figures nod to Pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican art. Richly decorated surfaces florals reminiscent of folk traditions and patterns inspired by Persian and Middle Eastern ceramics—bring each piece to life. Every work is hand-built and painted with love in Hackney, East London.
