Handcrafted in East London, the Dreaming Memory Vessel is a unique ceramic pet urn honouring a beloved cat. Inspired by Ancient Greek and Roman pottery, its form echoes classical amphorae, while the perched guardian cat draws from Pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican art, reminiscent of sacred animal figures watching over their keepers.

Hand-built from white stoneware, it features hand-painted underglaze designs and a pink-speckled crackle glaze for texture and depth. Each piece is one of a kind, with natural imperfections that enhance its unique character.

(Count Barkula)

Count Barkula is the playful ceramic alter ego of Kate Gorbunova, born during lockdown as an escape from screen fatigue. A graphic designer by trade, Kate sought a hands-on creative outlet—something tangible and deeply personal. She found it in clay. Inspired by her beloved whippet, Victor Hugo, Kate infuses each piece with character and mischief. Her ceramics blend ancient influences with a modern twist.

The shapes echo Greek and Roman pottery, while expressive animal figures nod to Pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican art. Richly decorated surfaces florals reminiscent of folk traditions and patterns inspired by Persian and Middle Eastern ceramics—bring each piece to life. Every work is hand-built and painted with love in Hackney, East London.
