Roselind Hunsel
Roselind Hunsel’s creative practice is shaped by a rich blend of cultural influences and design disciplines. Born in Paramaribo, Suriname, and now based in London, her background in fashion, pattern cutting, and costume design informs a distinctive visual language rooted in surface design, material exploration, and cultural storytelling. This journey from textile to clay has shaped her unique approach to sculptural ceramic forms.
Her Kumba Konfo series, featured as handmade artistic cremation urns and memorial objects, reflects her intuitive, evolving process. Sitting between 2D and 3D, the work merges pattern, form and spirit to create ceramic urns that are playful yet profound. Through these pieces, Roselind invites viewers to engage with memory, ritual, and the emotional resonance of objects.
