Abbey Peters
Abbey Peters is a Denver, Colorado based ceramic artist working with clay and collected ephemeral materials. She serves as the Phipps Visiting Professor of Ceramics at the University of Denver and holds an MFA in Ceramics from the University of Iowa and a BFA from the University of Arkansa.
After nearly a decade in the floral design industry, Abbey became fascinated by the way plants gather and tangle into patterns hidden in plain sight. Drawing on apothecaries and domestic interiors, her practice explores how care and knowledge are passed from one generation to the next, particularly among women. Her handmade ceramic urns are tactile, sculptural vessels, shaped by layered floral motifs and a deep attentiveness to care.
